Socrates in Love: Philosophy for a die-hard Romantic

I enjoy reading books during my spare time, which is why I’ve used a book cabinet as my background. To me books are a sort of freedom, although it depends on whether I like the book or not, when I read I escape my stressful surroundings and explore a new adventure. One of the books I’ve enjoyed the most is The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie. It is a comedy book based on a 14yo teen that has to deal with decision making and encouragement; besides being a funny and interesting book it also became a huge impact on my personal life events. Reading does not only help me fulfill my desires but it helps me gain more knowledge and identifying grammar mistakes I’ve been exposing throughout time.

My family has always been the most important to me. As I’ve been growing older, I’ve come to realize that one without company makes life complicated and worthless and can even get to the point where an individual could become miserable without others, yet for one to receive company one must provide it as well. Helping others has always been one of my biggest passions. I enjoy meeting new people and interacting with them, I like listening to different opinions and like trying out new standpoints although in certain circumstances it’s difficult trying on somebody else’s shoes. I guess I’m passionate about philosophy.

If college wouldn’t be as stressful as it realistically is, I would say the reason which I am in school, would be just because alike Socrates, I appreciate knowledge. However, I’m enrolled in school reason why I really look forward on supporting my guardians as much as they have been supporting me for the past years. Although I also continue coming to school reason why I am majoring as a computer analyst; at least I’ll be doing something with what I find myself pleased with.

I am currently taking this class as a prerequisite for my major although I have to admit I do expect to improve my writing skills, understanding, and like mentioned before meet new people. I will try to grasp as much as I can and take with me and make good usage of it along the run.

In honest matter most times, I over stress about everything and it just makes me want to quit. Yet again my family comes to mind which is what helps me getting out of bed every morning, finish strong on the very last page of an essay, try a math problem for the fifth time if I have to, and sometimes getting no sleep in order to complete assignments. After all of that stress, these are the reasons why I’m still enrolled in school.
